T-Mobile and Huawei announces myTouch and the myTouch Q
Entry level smartphones generally do not generate too much of a buzz for obvious reasons – they are functional, but not groundbreaking in any way. Still, for companies to ignore the entry level market would be a great folly, since this market is huge. T-Mobile and Huawei have just announced a couple of entrants to the entry-level market in the form of the myTouch and the myTouch Q. These are the 7th and 8th handsets in the myTouch range, where the two of them will be powered by a 1.4GHz single core Qualcomm S2 processor, a 4″ 800 x 480 resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera at the back with a VGA camera in front, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system of choice, going to show just how entry level it is. Guess you won’t find Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, let alone Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for this anytime soon. The Q is slightly different from the vanilla myTouch as it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. You can pick up the myTouch and myTouch Q later this summer for $49.99
