According to a new report, Facebook is going to make its move into the premium TV-like show segment next month. The report claims that the Facebook premium TV shows will be available starting mid-June. It may launch two dozen shows initially and has reportedly greenlit multiple shows for production. Citing multiple people familiar with the plans, Business Insider reports that Facebook has given the green signal to start production on several TV shows.Facebook is reportedly looking for shows in two distinct tiers that include longer, big-budget shows that would be similar to conventional TV shows and less expensive shorter shows that would last up to ten minutes and refresh every 24 hours.If it does decide to go into original programming, it will allow Facebook to compete effectively against the likes of YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Video.
