Samsung continues to contribute to the advancement of the 5G network technology. The company is now working with the United States military to build a new high-bandwidth 5G wireless network, according to a report. The new network is being designed for speed connectivity, and line-of-sight networking technology. Samsung is reportedly conducting development trials using its pre-commercial 28GHz mm wave system and devices. It’s also conducting 4G trials at 3.5 GHz using 4G LTE small cell technology.Since the technology draws upon existing commercial form factors the new 5G network will be less expensive, said Terry Halvorsen, CIO EVO Samsung Electronics IT & Mobile Communications B2B Business. Halvorsen was previously the CIO at the DOD.He also pointed out that the network will be more secure. “You have large bandwidth so you can use higher levels of encryption without compromising connection speed,” he said. The network relies on small multi-directional antennas for line-of-sight connect
