Verizon to sell smart phones for prepaid service

Verizon Wireless customers who don't want to commit to long-term service contracts will now be able to prepay for smartphone service, the company announced on Thursday.In a September 1 press release, the company announced that the new 3G Prepaid data package would allow customers to access unlimited data on select smartphones and multimedia handsets for a rate of $30 per month. A $10 monthly package that allows 25 MB worth of data downloads each month and includes a $0.20 per MB overage fee is also available."These new data offerings will help our prepaid customers experience the full breadth of Verizon Wireless? robust device portfolio and the many engaging, informative and helpful applications that depend on a data plan," Jim Sullivan, the company's Director of Marketing, said in the press release.
